Meet Jeff

In his youth, Jeff was always fascinated with numbers, and he enjoyed conversing about them with individuals older than him. They often told him, “Son, you have an old soul; your talk tells me you have been here before.” As a child, he never knew what that expression meant. Fast forward to the present day, and he greatly appreciates the 10,000+ hours invested into his interests by his aunts, uncles, grandparents, mother, and family friends.

Jeffrey D. Powell is an executive-level investment banking professional. Jeff transcended his childhood, graduated college, and pursued a career in finance. He became enraptured with the possibilities of impact investing and the various means to bridge capital into our often overlooked and undercapitalized communities.

After graduating college, Jeff was recruited by J.P. Morgan Bank, where his Wall Street career started, followed by Merrill Lynch, Capital Maverick Group, and Wells Fargo Bank & Co. Jeff’s banking career equipped him with the essential tools for bridging Wall Street capital markets into Main Street capital needs – Bridging Capital for Impact.

Jeff is a banker and the most notable Bridging Capital for Impact thought leader who believes in the power of people and that collective collaboration drives greater results.

If you ask Jeff his most pleasing title, he will tell you, “Dad.” He is the father of three children and one grandson; he is a husband; and the son of Sheila M. Powell.

Jeff was reared in a single-parent household by a young, strong, independent woman who let her actions speak much louder than her words.
