Bridging Capital for IMPACT
ACTIONABLE WAYS TO BRIDGE CAPITAL INTO OUR UNDERCAPITALIZED COMMUNITIES.
Book Description
Jeff’s commitment to philanthropy and equity has never wavered throughout his life, and finding ways to make a difference in the communities where he lives and works is central to his character and approach to life.
The book Bridging Capital for Impact is a call to action for the balancing of communities. This deployable strategy facilitates the collaboration power of public, private, and philanthropic entities and the people themselves.
Many have brainstormed ways to bridge capital into undercapitalized communities, though just a few have been able to do so. Having personally grown up in a blighted urban setting, where impact investing could have made all the difference, I want to help pave the way to a brighter future.
To truly be a subject-matter expert in understanding the flow of capital into undercapitalized communities, it helps when one has experienced both ends of the spectrum — economic disparity and financial parity.

Passion And Purpose
I can still recall the words of my late grandmother: “Skills cost one dollar, but passion is priceless”. She firmly believed that my passion for numbers and my willingness to help people discern the value of the dollar was a gift from above. Her words of encouragement spurred my passion for fulfilling my purpose, and in the end, it became my profession.
My fascination with numbers and structuring capital solutions helped propel my professional career and what I call my personal passion projects.
Finding your passion is not just about finding a career or making money. It is about finding your authentic self and applying your God-given talents in a way that will impact lives today and in the future.
“I never knew numbers could mean so much and so little at the same time” — J. Powell

WHY DID I WRITE THE BOOK?
The book was written with two central purposes: (1) educating and informing and (2) encouraging and invoking execution.
This further validates my commitment to reinvesting my time, talents, and treasures into the community that helped position me for greatness. I have written this book to share my knowledge and insights and encourage like-minded individuals to embrace the book as a resource and tool for impact investing in the hope that they commit to acting.
The people who reside in undercapitalized communities are not just numbers. They are the inspiration and the genesis for bridging capital with measurable impacts. When we look into the eyes of our fellow human beings and see despair, this should provide ample motivation to bridge capital into undercapitalized communities.
We all strive to live and prosper, hoping our descendants and community will advance to the next level and leave a meaningful history for future generations.
Bridging Capital for Impact is the deliberate, organized, and conscious effort by members of the four sectors to construct balanced communities – Collective Collaboration!
